No best buy, circuit city crap for me. I had a system built about 5 years ago and I want to do it again. Only this time there is so much more out there and I haven't kept up like I used to. What should I look out for, what is good, etc. It will be used at home for mostly browsing, MS Office apps, NOT gaming, watch a DVD from time to time, etc. I want it to last a couple years before I upgrade it. Here are my ideas so far (they may be way off because I haven't kept up)...

    Nice AMD board (suggestions)

    1G memory

    150G HDD

    DVD burner

    DVD ROM

    Floppy Drive

    NIC

    128MB video card

    Couple USB ports (old, new??)

Tower power supply w/ 3 bays

Suggestions/advice/what to avoid?? Are my numbers off? Probably spend 6-700. I have OS, mouse, KB, monitor. :x:

The stuff is cheap because it's from NewEgg. Almost nobody can beat their prices, though you can search on DealTime to find the absolute lowest price on each item if you're a scrooge.
