I've gonna be getting a new Comp-tac holster for christmas, but... I'm not sure which one yet. Any advice on whether I should get the MTAC or the CTAC?

same price as the ctac now and has a leather backing instead of having kydex against your skin so it's more comfortable.

doesnt add too much thickness? that seems like the compromise to me. either you get the MTAC which is thicker (and bulkier i suppose), but its more comfortable, or you get the CTAC which is slimmer, but you deal with the kydex poking you...

If you have kydex poking you and making it uncomfortable you are less likely to wear it.

    Comfort FTW.

    Buy slightly larger pants.

Or lose weight and keep the same pants.

I have the MTAC for my TRP, but I just don't like the way it feels :dunno:

Maybe it's a combination of many things:

    Heavy gun, non-gun belt... I don't know.

I have an MTAC for my G19. I love it. Barely notice it after awhile. Sometimes not so much, only cuz my pants aren't loose enough.

haha looks like i'll be getting the MTAC then, thanks for all the input. I think right now its cheaper than the CTAC because they have a coupon for it.

You'll be more happy with yourself for getting the MTAC over the CTAC. The leather will feel more comfortable to ya rather than the kydex.

hahaha. well im running off experience with a POS uncle mike's holster that i have. it's kind of a tight fit in some of my pants, but i think thats because of the position of the clip. :hsughno: if it doesnt fit well, i guess i could always go talk to gregg and see if he can do some work on it.

you'd be surprised. it doesn't move around like an uncle mikes, due to the leather backing. so basically you'll just have your belt one notch back. at least that's how mine is

EDIT: and I wear regular fit and loose fit (not baggy) Levi's

yeah thats one of the major probems i have with my uncle mike's. it shifts every which way and the gun just doesn't feel secure in the holster at all. once i get my new holster, im gonna cut it up and turn it into a pocket holster for my beretta BUG
