This time, I was only able to make it to the last day, Sunday, instead of being there opening day like last year. Dustin Nguyen left like an hour or two after I got there so I couldn't buy anything from him (sorry Void) or get a sketch :(

Adam Hughes wasn't there on the second day either, neither was Adi Granov. Let's make with the pics. Lemme know if you can't see them.

    Arrive in Seattle. Beautiful day.

Didn't have cash, had to wait in line at the ATM.

First person I head to, Mike Choi (X-Force/Messiah War/X-books). Can't say enough good things about him, he's real nice. Lives near me too so we talked about shit.

Matt fucking Fraction. (Iron Man, Iron Fist) Real nice guy. I had to ask if it was him, since all the pictures I've see he had a beard, so I didn't recognize him. He said he got that a lot. :o

The almighty Rob Liefeld, some guy got him to draw a sketch of a pouch for him. My brother waited in line for that one, I wasn't as interested.

While he waited in line for Liefeld, I got our books signed by Erik Larsen, Savage Dragon creator.

Greg Horn. Emma Frost cover artist. The prints I wanted were sold out. Greg Horn > Greg Land.

Yeah. Frank Cho. Artist of all things dat ass.

Brian Michael Bendis. You know who he is. He's also from the Portland area too, so we talked about comic shops and shit. That's Ed Brubaker to his right.

Speaking of. Ed fucking Brubaker. Also an awesome guy. His line was long so I didn't get to chat too much. He does live in Seattle though.

Myself and the ladies of DC.

    Oh shit, Spider-Man

    Suicide Girls booth.

    Bruce Timm!!!

Daniel Way (Deadpool) tired as fuck. He said he just finished writing Deadpool #14, and he's going to be on that book for as long as it sells. So you keep fucking buying that book.

Clayton Crain (X-Force). All that art you see in the books, he hand paints. He hand paints art EXACTLY like you'd see in the book. He was doing a Batgirl/X-23 commission. It was awesome to just watch him paint.

    Spider-Man and a Ghostbuster.

Walked by some guy named RANTZ!, liked his art, got him to draw me a quick sketch of Emma.

Ray Park. Darth Maul/Snake Eyes/Toad in the movies. He's Scottish. I got my pro picture done with him but I have no scanner. I talked to him about the Iron Fist movie.... he's dying to do it, but with Marvel putting Iron Man/Cap/Avengers/Thor to the forefront, Iron Fist is still in pre-production. Huge muscles on him.

Con ends in 45 minutes, back to the car.

Sketch of X-23 I got Mike Choi to draw. Torn between X or Deadpool. Next year will be Deadpool.

    Rantz quick sketch of Emma.

Hero Initiative sketchbook, #199/200. Cover by Tim Sale, art from Frank Cho, Choi, lotta guys.

Spider-Man print from John Giang. He remembered me from last year.... we talked about college and stuff and life. He did production design from Iron Man (the first time Tony puts on the MkIII armor scene), Transformers (Autobot/Decepticon designs), Iron Man 2, Transformers 2, and Terminator: Salvation (designed the giant Terminator in the trailer, the transforming motorcycles.) I tried to get him to say he designed pieces of a War Machine suit, but he smiled and said no comment. The same for Soundwave when I asked about his visor and keeping a G1 head.

awesome. dustin's prints haven't even graced eBay, so I'll probably never get my hands on them :(

i would have slaughtered a few people for a bruce timm commission :eek3:

The thing is... Dustin's prints were the ones we both wanted  :wtc:

It was the mini Marvel/DC prints, but it was like 27x15 and huge. I didn't want to carry that shit around, so I figured I'd get them before I left. But then he left when I came back :(

    From Dustin...

I heard a lot of guys like Bru/Bendis/Choi saying this as well :noes:

It's big enough to attract half the cast of Battlestar and to run a lot of panels, but not as crazy as SDCC or NYCC. The thing I like about ECCC is that you can actually sit down and talk to artists and writers when their line shortens.

    Books I got sign...

Savage Dragon 1 and 1 variant - Erik Larsen
Youngblood 1, New Mutants 100 and 98 (first ever appearance of Deadpool) - Liefeld

    Emma Frost 1, 2, 3 - Horn

    Various New/Mighty/Dark Avengers - Bendis/Cho

    Cap books - Brubaker

    Iron Fist books - Fraction/Brubaker

    X-Books - Mike Choi

Didn't get a chance to get my X-Men books signed by Humberto Ramos, his line was always huge as fuck since he was doing commissions...

And my Detective Comics books by Dustin Nguyen since he took off.

I'd buy it... but I spend like 200+ and spending 100 more for a poor college kid during a recession isn't a good idea :o

    :o Nope.

It gets bigger and bigger every year. This year they upgraded to a bigger hall.

On a side note, the artist/writer/exhibitor pass was a picture of Hal Jordan using his Green Lantern ring to create the Space Needle. It was sick.

DC handed out a bunch of swag... Wonder Woman crowns, the Flash's rings. Battle for the Cowl pins and shit.

    Damn dude you are skinny.

Looks like a blast though. They never have shit near me. The best I can manage is a long drive to stalk Robert Kirkman. :wtc:

deviantart.com has plenty of comic book/animation artists that offer prints. mostly all original works, i don't think marvel/dc would let creators sell prints of character they own.

other then that, just do a google of the artist you're into. chances are they have some sort of blog or website. most artist sell prints and original work that way or have links to their dealers and whatnot...

or you can be like me and have about 200 saved searches on eBay that send me emails when someone posts something by an artist i saved :o
