Crunches are a part of my cardio routine (of course). I was wondering if laying down vs. using a medicine ball? Is one better than the other or is it all just personal preference?

I have a foam pillow i do them on.... My fucking lower back hurts like a bastard after a while doing tons of crunches, especially if the floor is hard...with something supporting the lower back, i can do much more....Not sure if it is worse for you, but i have a six pack....well not so much anymore that im bulking.... more like a weak fourpack now...

while doing them in cardio for boxing we do them on an incline with a medince ball.

someone throws you the ball when your sitting
    touch it to your stomach
    go all the way down
touch the ball over your head on the bench
    then back to stomach
    and back up
