Shot those this weekend. Lighting was provided by a bunch of cheap halogen work lights from home depot.

    They depict the WW2 era.

What ones do you like, and why? What ones do you dislike and why?

The composition and lighting for the most part is good. 5 doesn't feel like you really captured the subject, 8 isn't wide enough to be interesting to me and is too bright, 12 is compositionally unbalanced, 9 and 10 feel too bright for that time of day, 13 is underexposed, and 17 feels like a bad fake-old conversion. And generally the costumes look too new, like you just bought them and dirtied them up without distressing the materials

While they are not all "perfect" (whatever that means), it's a damn good set of images. I am not really into critiquing others work, but I must say that they are damn cool. About the only thing I would have done is added something to restrict the power of some of the lights and made the people roll around in grease to look dirty.

Here is the secret behind the lighting for my shots. We also had several photographers from around the world there.
