critique my workout v. sick as a dog

    got hit with a cold on tuesday that knocked me out of the gym for the week, so i figured i might as well ask F&N's opinion on my routine

    be gentle :noes:

    monday - chest / forearms
    4x6-8 weighted dips
    4x6-8 incline benchpress
    4x6-8 incline shoulder raise

    4x6-8 wrist curls
    4x6-8 reverse wrist curls
    4x6-8 hammer curls

    tuesday - legs / upper arms
    4x6-8 wide stance squats
    4x6-8 standing calf raises /\ || \/
    4x6-8 good morning

    4x6-8 incline curls
    4x6-8 preacher curls
    4x6-8 one arm tricep extensions

    wednesday - rest

    thursday - shoulders / waist
    4x6-8 front raise
    4x6-8 upright row
    4x6-8 lateral raise
    4x6-8 rear delt row

    except for gagne's cyclone, which i don't have the equipment to do

    friday - back / whatever's lagging behind

    4x6-8 bent over row
    4x6-8 chinups
    4x6-8 shrugs
    4x6-8 straight leg deadlift

    and then whatever i feel needs another workout this week



    comments? suggestions?

    a lot of times with core muscle groups I switch up the rep combinations:

    (setsXreps) increasing weight

    week 1: 5X5
    week 2: 5X5,4,3,2,1
    week 3: 3X10,8,6
    week 4: 5X3

    but your work out seems effective, however, try to mix it up every now and then to get a good variety of different exercises

    any reason why you do dips before press?

    did you put any thought into this routine? Or just throw darts at an exercise board

    i went to exrx, looked up the different muscle groups, found excercises for them and went from there

    what changes do you suggest i make?

    not really, would it make much of a difference what order i did the excercises in?

    yea it matters.

    its like doing leg extensions before heavy squats...you dont. usually the biggest (ie most enclusive) exercises are done first.
