Heh, I rarely post here. I get intimidated by most of you guys. Any Rebel/Rebel XT crew left here? :mamoru:

Anyway, here's the before and after pic:

I've been trying to improve my technique for awhile now. Been guilty of the old airbrush/gaussian blur thing before. :mamoru:

The first one looks like she has goose bumps all over her face. Seems like it should be more smooth. The second one looks pretty cool, though. (Second one is hot)

the blond is pretty damn good and would look great in print.

The brunette is way overdone, but i'm guessing that's your 'before' pic...

OT is into that though, check out some of the other post processing threads...

    You should post more.

Haha really? I posted the first pic before in some other forum and they said it was overprocessed, which is why I'm assuming my older technique in the second pic is definitely overkill then. :o

Thanks for the compliments. Hehe that's what I've been reading too that the technique is better suited for print, but I'm not sure what they meant by that. :p Yeah, I posted the brunette to show my previous post processing techniques.

on the intranets, people look for flawless skin (but not too flawless, cuz then they look fake.. :hs:)

In print, the texture you have in the skin would make her skin look realistic AND flawless.

In print you lose a little sharpness and texture, so you want to retain more of the edges and detail than you would if you intend to view something entirely on the web.

Haha funny you mention that, I didn't do anything to the eyes at all and someone already mentioned in another forum that the eyes look to white for him. :mamoru:

    meh. Everyone has their opinion...

If you only view things on the web, then I guess my eyes and your skin are a bit over processed, but I view as much work as possible in print, so I know my workflow works properly with printing, or I wouldn't be doing as much as I do.

I often take peoples critisizm of my work being 'overly crisp' as a compliment, because that means it'll rock out as a print...

Ah that makes sense. Gonna try to look for a good compromise for skin processing for viewing in teh int4rw3bz then. :)

    Haha yeah I agree.

I also just printed out these pics since I'm building a portfolio and the processing looks ok.

    Good call.

    And +1 on that.

Nice processing on both images, but as jared_IRL said in so many words or less, process them based on their final destination. What you do for web viewing wouldn't necessarily cary over to print as well and vice versa.

I like the subjects though!

If by processing you mean removing her skin and putting goosebumps on her face, then yes good job :bigthumb:

Haha the Wii strap's that discernible eh? Yeah, that was my Wii strap. :bigthumb:

I'll try to do a compromise then for web processing. Thanks for the compliments. :bigthumb:
