Currently I am 6' about 185lbs, and the scale I have fluctuates around 17-18% bodyfat. Basically I want to try and cut down to about 170-175 so I can get my ab's to come out. Let me know what you think of my diet.

    Meal 1:
    1/2 cup oatmeal
    5 egg whites
    1 scoop whey
    355cals, 31c, 4.5f, 47p

    Meal 2:
    1/4 cup brown rice
    6oz chicken
    335cals, 35c, 3f, 44p

    Meal 3:
    6oz chicken
    5oz sweet potato
    1/2 cup green beans
    1tbsp peanut butter
    405cals, 37c, 9.8f, 47p

    Meal 4:
    can of tuna
    1/4 cup brown rice
    345cals, 35c, 4f, 42.5p
    train

    Meal 5:
    2 scoops whey
    1/2 gatorade
    340 cals, 34c, 2f, 48p

    Meal 6:
    8oz ground beef
    4 cups salad
    337cal, 8c, 11f, 50p

    Total:
    2117 cals, 180c, 34.5f, 278p

    How does this look?

May wanna kick up your fat intake just a bit. It's a bit low even if you are looking to drop weight. It's more about overall calorie intake and exercise then how much fat you take in. Maybe bring it up to 50-70g or so.

How many grams of fat should I bump it up to? Add another tbsp of peanut butter or throw some peanuts into my salad at night?

Throw in some fish oil caps for some Omega-3's but that still isn't much (only about 1 per cap). I'd say a lil peanut butter (natural, none of this Skippy crap that's packed with HFC), raw almonds, fatty fruit, even some milk with fat like 2% (if you can stomach it, lots of people seem to only be able to drink the kinda milk they were raised on).

I would want at least 10g fat per meal with the exception of Post Workout. Its been a long time since i've seen diets with 5g or less.

To get there you can add flax seed oil to your shakes, regular flax seeds to solid meals, have some raw almonds on the side, whole cheese, even avocados.

I just skimmed through the Metabolism Advantage written by John Berardi (he's quoted in our Nutrition EDU sticky). He advocates taking Fish Oil Caps...anywhere from 6-10 caps a day. He claims it can help you burn up to 400 more calories a day :eek3:

Do you think it would make a difference if I switched up meals 2 and 3? Eat the chicken/sweet potato/greens as meal number 2 and chicken/rice for meal 3? Reason being, I have class in the morning, then in the late afternoon... and meal #3 has to be eaten between 2 classes within like 5 minutes.

I don't see any issue with switching those meals up. Go for it.
