This is a pretty typical day....I'm trying to lose weight and build muscle...:noes:

    Protein shake (whey)

Eggs (egg beaters really - bout three servings, 30 calories per) and spinach

    Broccoli, half a protein shake

Ground turkey (1/2 cup) and wheat tortilla

Kashi bar (4g fiber, 7g protein)

Chicken (regular sized breast) and brussel sprouts

    Kashi bar

    :dunno:

*edit - I'm like 6'5"/275 in case that makes a difference

don't stop eating broccoli if you like it. It tastes great and it's great for you... but don't get full off it and neglect protein and fats that you need.

No, it's definitely a side and not a whole plate of broccoli crowding out a small piece of chicken.

to lose weight u need to have a calorie deficit, to gain weight you need to have a calorie surplus.
if you can eat more calories than you need while also eating less calories than you need, then good on you.

i agree some ppl manage to lose fat and gain muscle simultaneously; but they're the ppl who know how to listen to their body so well.
