Second rig, built my first one more than 5 years ago which fubared just over 1 year ago. I have been using a laptop ever since

I'm going to be stock trading with this computer, no gaming, and will use Windows XP. The monitors will be 3 refurbished 2005FPWs off of eBay for $630 shipped. Also a secondary vid card will be added (quadro nvs 400) for ~$110.

I would have gone with a bigger PSU and a seagate hard drive, but overall, it looks good to me. I have that same board in my server at home and it's working very well.

Hmm...yeah. Thanks for looking it over.

I'd like to setup RAID in the future, but I wanted to get it as cheap as possible.

it's about 45 bucks more to step up to the DS4R board that has onboard raid from Gigabyte had you not already ordered, but at this point, you can always add a raid card to your existing setup if you do decide to go raid.

i just bought an E6750 and the same MB, they are in the mail

i have an ATI HD 3850 that I got a good deal on from best buy though. considered the best mid-range card out there for price in performance. i spent $150 on it, not too shabby. wish i would have had the extra cash for an 8800gt tho. maybe later...

cant wait to put this thing together when it all shows up!

Why the 8600GT? :wtc: The best bang for the buck right now is the 8800GT which would have cost you an extra $100-$150.

I'm trying to find that link where TWO 8600GTs (SLI'd) couldn't even beat a single 8800GT after extensive testing/benchmarking...

Nope. I used to game a lot. My vid card was a geforce ti4600 and the last GPU intensive game I played was either UT 2003 or BF1942. I'm trying not to get back into it. :o

Dammit now I'm thinking about getting the 8800 GT. If the 512 MB comes down to 200 after the holidays I'm going to be pissed. Ahh fuck me.

If you don't play games then don't get the 8800GT, waste of money.

At most get an HD3850 though a 2600pro would do very well for what you have described.

Spend the money on a good UPS if you are day trading. One power blip could ruin your day.
