    Thanks for taking a minute to review my setup... this will be my first time putting together a new machine.

    Primary use is for Graphic Design and Web Development. I multitask with Multiple Web Browsers and email open. Photoshop / Illustrator always open.

    any reason you're not going with AMD for the processor?

    other than that it looks good. I have that dvd burner(in white) and i've not had any problems. Enjoy the 2gb of ram :bigthumb:

    If you use maya, Mental Ray is multithreaded and i notice a huge benifit rendering with HT over AMD cpus. AMD = weak for rendering and encoding, unless we are talking about dual core :o

    I wouldn't go with AMD. I would go with Intel in this situation, being that you're a graphic designer that is most likely going to be using very heavy applications which an Intel based chip with HT will be able to handle much better.

    If plan on gaming, go for AMD. :coold:
