If its CEE it might ruin you shake if you mix it in.... Also, you might want to do 2.5g before and 2.5g after.

The only thing you have to do with creatine is preferably take it with carbs. That's it.

There's no need to complicate things. Carbs will help creatine go into the muscles and that's what matters as long as you take it daily. You could get a higher dose from time to time to make sure you're muscles are filled but that's it.

Yes. I guess the confusion with the workout thing is that most people get a high-carb beverage during their workout making it a good time to take it. A PWO shake with plenty of carbs is just one occasion like any other meal.

creatine needs an insulin spike, a high carb meal isn't good enough, needs to be something with a high GI (simple sugar, etc)

Wait.. what? someone explain what that says, basically, take creatine mixed in juice, and drink more juice 30-40 mins after?

essentially keep the insulin spiked for an extended amount of time (not so much a spike after all) so that the creatine can be absorbed by the muscles

he's only saying use juice because of the price associated with dextrose/glucose

but considering 2lbs of dextrose can be bought for ~$3, I'm not sure how that is cost effective

I can't find the study in pubmed, I'm curious where he got that info from...
What's weird is that creatine doesn't directly lead to a greater muscle mass... Fishy.

he said he did the study himself so take that with a grain of salt

creatine isn't the building block of muscle, so I'm not sure what you mean by that

Ghetto study ftw  So many variables could explain that. Higher calories is the first easily spotted. We can't tell much from that "study".
I was saying that creatine by itself doesn't help to gain mass so it's strange to say that a group of people gained more mass while on it. It would have been much more sensible to measure the weight lifted or the training volume or the training density or something like that.

I've seen/posted studes before showing lbm gains from creatine, so :dunno: what you mean

Creatine might help you gain LBM by letting you lift a certain weight a little bit more, but it's not the creatine that helps you gain LBM, it's the fact that you might be able to train a little bit harder. Just taking creatine won't lead to gains in LBM, all it does is to boost the availability of energy filled phosphate bonds in your muscles which helps the ATP-CP energy system.
