I'm just learning how to go about overclocking and I ran into a problem. First here is my motherboard (Gigabyte):

    http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products...erboard&ProductID=1857&ProductName=GA-K8NXP-9

And my processor (AMD Athlon 64):

    http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_9485_9487,00.html?redir=CPAT01

My confusion begins with perhaps a misconception. The manual says nothing about FSB but says its supports up to DDR 400 RAM, which I assume means it has a 400 FSB. However during post it says the CPU frequency is 200. What's the relationship between FSB and CPU frequency?

the relationship is via a multiplier

    Your multiplier is 2. 2 x 200 = 400
