    can you post a link?

some people on POTN said that with the 10-22 i would get vignetting if i used the wrong filter.

i assume that is why you are saying slim.

gotta be a slim filter unless you want to crop.

    that's why i don't have a UV on my 10-22.

Correct, it has no front threads, I haven't seen a slim filter that has them (please post up one that does if they are out there)

I have heard about banding issues, Id like to just get a GND filter, but a lot of my landscapes have mountains in them which they dont work so well for

i saw this CPL at a camera site...you could twist it for the CPL effect or you could twist it another way and just have a UV filter...

    WTF, that sounds dumb...

thats pretty much how they work, you twist to get your desired effect, in certain positions it will do pretty much nothing but act as a 1 stop ND filter.

and straight into the sun, or 180* from the sun they dont do much of anything

    but will always add contrast

yep, there are 2 pieces of glass, I saw an image once that explained it well, its almost like 2 white picket fences, 1 stays the same, the other one rotates around letting a different amount of reflections through

I searched for the image, I cant find it right now, if anyone knows what im talking about, post it :x:
