I'm jealous! He bought the initial parts kit a few years ago, and has slowly been collecting all the required parts for the build. Finally finished it last week and brought it in today for me to admire.

I've got pics, but can't post them. halp?

    Thanks Buzz!

The finish looks a bit splotchy because he sandblasted it prior to the Duracoat. Looks like he didn't get a very consistent blast profile. The pics make it look worse than it actually is though. The gloss black on the grip is also Duracoat (same exact product) but he didn't blast that and thus it applied nicer.

I actually did that, but when I hit the button to submit the post, it said I wasn't allowed to post links to other sites. Guess I need a sub or something. Hell, even quoting your text it won't let me post. I guess it reads the I M G part and rejects it.

  11. You need 100 posts before you can post images.

yeah. kind of hick, but considering he built/welded the action housing from 3 separate guns, I can see why it is the way it is. Original design was a rivet. I know he fashioned the other rivets himself with a lot of heat and a rivet head shaped stamp and a bit of persuasion. They were easier though as they were a lot smaller rivets. I think he was originally going to do a rivet there.

It's fully functional. I went with him a few weeks ago on the test run. Converted to semi-auto though to keep it legal. Still fun as hell though to shoot.

I recommend he visit www.robertrtg.com. They have every part one could eed for the 42 so you dont have to use house ware or make your own shit. They even have the camming rivet for $10.

The receivers were demilled if they were parts kits. It is no longer considered a machine gun so the "once a machine gun, always a machine gun" does not apply at all.

It would be similar to the guys who weld repair plates to the demilled milled receiver AK kits.

The key to a semi conversion is that the gun can't be readily converted to a full auto. For example, tube open bolt guns have to be converted to closed bolt and the new tubes can't accept open bolt parts.
