Couple questions for F&N

    Two weeks ago I started doing military presses again (shoulders are Tuesday, so I have done these twice), and I now have this intense pain in both shoulders when I try to do these (Bradford press included). I always did dumbbell presses for four months and never had a problem. Do you think my form is bad, or is it the combination of the barbell and my shoulder (I have dislocated it a few times during football)? What other lifts can I do when I go home (I don't have dumbbells for DB shoulder presses)?

    Also, what is the purpose of a carb-up day that I see in a lot of diets now?

    carb up day is only for ketosis diets

    Can't really offer you anything for the shoulder stuff, except maybe find another exercise to use to work around it. I would also think about seeing a doctor if it continues.

    As far as the reason for the carb-up days, generally they are to
    1) Refill muscle glycogen
    2) Help turn off diet induced muscle breakdown
    3) Keep you sane

    non-keto diets include refeed days, too

    meh, ok GENERALLY speaking, they're for keto diets.

    You're talking about cyclical ketogenic diets. Many ketogenic diets don't have refeeds.
