    BACK at 220 lbs 5'11" :(

diet is currently 1700 cals trying to keep a 33%/33%/33% of cals from fat, carb, protein. I'd like to see 190 before end of March, but I don't know if thats even possible. The questions I have are basically "when to do what" kind of questions and if I should even bother with lifting heavy for less sets, or lifting light for more sets.

I'm currently trying to stick to 6 days on with Sunday being my day off. Trying to do light cardio in the morning for 35 minutes and lifting when i get off of work. Wondering if this is good for cutting, if it is should I be lifting heavier for shorter periods, or lighter for longer periods?

Diet is completely clean, no trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, and allowing one "dirty" meal on a saturday. Eating mostly fish/chicken/lean beef with fruits and vegetables and whole grain breads when i eat them.

So yeah, anyone with beneficial advice would be greatly appreciated.

cutting has everything to do with diet.

keep lifting heavy while cutting. You'll find you won't be able to lift as much, but you should still go heavy.

Do HIIT and you might want to do some light cardio after lifting because your glucose level in your bloodstream will be depleted thus your body will use energy from fat.

i'm doing the "weight loss" session on the precore. During the lows i'm running at full pace which according to their heart rate meter is at like 150+, during the highs i'm just pacing myself and that lowers my HR to 125-130. doing 4 minutes of each, 3 times. so:

1st 4 minutes: getting heart rate up
    2nd 4 minutes: maintaining 130ish BPM
    3rd 4 minutes: full on sprint, 150+BPM
4th 4 minutes: slower pace, dropping to 130 BPM

rinse and repeat 2 more times.

i get 33 minutes total and and sweating profusely after.

    Unless you're obese, I wouldn't suggest it.

I'm 6" taller than you and weigh 10lbs less. You're not obese, you're just fat. There are better ways to lose weight.

Eat 5 times a day, limit your intake to about 2000 calories. Lift weights 3x a week, do HIIT 2-3x a week.

You seriously sound like you're on the right track, I'm not sure why you even posted this. You're eating clean, doing cardio, and lifting. :dunno: Just lift heavy, break your meals into 5-6 smaller meals, and get plenty of rest.
