when did the engine go from a 2.0 liter to a 2.5 liter? big difference in power?

and how is it for a daily driver?

im looking to get rid of my 94 celica for one, and if i have to, my F4i as well.

    STI is the 2.5 turbo

the 2.0 does not have that much get up and go from the factory, go test drive it and you will see what I mean. I test drove a WRX and a SRT-4 and got the SRT :dunno:

I drive mine daily. I like it. It will feel powerful coming from a celica. :dunno:

With stock suspension and wheels the ride is decent. A decent daily driver, no benz, but it's not uncomfortable.

    These are crank #'s

I think the WRX does about 165 HP to the wheels and about the same for TQ

i guess i read that magazine ad wrong about it being a 2.5 now.. but it never said anything about STI.

regardless... well of course there are gonna be good and bad reviews, thats expected. but is there something wrong i should know about this car to drive me away from it?

I went from an 01 v6 mustang to a wrx and its been very fun so far :wiggle:

but if you can swing an sti definitely go for it. I love my car much but of course an sti would just be that much more fun...

or of course the new legacy gt.. :yum:

needs painted side skirts too :big grin: but very clean and nice, new wheels really transform the whole car.

I can't wait til the first of the year because that's when I start playing with power mods :wiggle:

i've owned a WRX wagon for about two years now and can't imagine finding any other car this satisfying. the only real complaint you can have about a WRX is that you have to really push it to get performance. you have to wind out the gears to feel the turbo kick in (though, driving a celica you prolly are used to that).

anyone who says a WRX is slow is nuts. you compare it to any other car that costs less than $25k and you'll see the WRX beat it hands down every time from the line. at passing speeds, you just have to get used to downshifting to hit that sweet spot in the power band.
