Took a few shots of the sunset from the top of Blanchard Mountain, about 20 minutes from my condo. Lemme know what you think

don't you feel like all that fill light ruins the foreground though?

Nice location. Try shooting again at the same time with a higher ISO.

You can still burn the foreground in.

thanks for the feedback. i'm gonna go back up there with more time and try some stuff out. i was using ISO 200, which i know isn't ideal for the conditions.

    Two things.

#1 I really want to visit the Pacific Northwest. Maybe even life there.
#2 I like being able to see the foreground. Even if you dont want to see it though, Id still say the image could benefit from some contrast. Seems kinda flat and dark as-is.

    agreed

i like the detail in the 2nd pic. the pine trees can still make a nice foregounrd

i just found out today from my cousin that if i would have went 100 yards further down the road, i would have gotten an even better view. i guess i'm going back this weekend to try again lol :big grin:

I don't have the original file, but there's way too much detail loss in the trees to bring the highlights up in them, so...

Nice. I've only been up that way a few times but that's an awesome view. There are a few vantage points down in the OLY area but nothing like that.
