I'm cleaning out my mac trying to make some room.

    I have 2.5 gig's free on a 10 gig drive. running 10.2.4.

I have MAAAAAAYBE 1 gig of music. and Maaaaaaybe 1/2 gig of programs.

Is the OS really 5 gig's large? I can't find where all the space has gone too. Is there a utility that will clean my hd up? Delete any log files that have gotten out of hand and whutnot.

Do you have the developer tools installed? That alone will eat up many gigs of space with the documentation and all.

Oh, and if you'd like to find out where all your free space went, go to "Show View Options" in the finder. The last option, "Calculate all sizes" will display the sizes of all the folders as you browse around. It really slows the system down though so turn it off when you're done.
