cotton filling in my box

    i have a JL power wedge box with 2 old 10" kicker comps.....inside each section of the box is filled with this cotton filling stuff....what will it sound like if i remove it all ...and what are the pros / cons of having it because i know alot of boxes dont have it inside

    A filling material will make the air behave as if it is more "stiff" and it will make the enclosure act like it is a bit bigger than normal. It shouldnt be very audible.

    However, it does have another advantage. It will help damp standing waves of higher frequencies.

    I reccomend leaving it in the box.
