As I was sitting, I thought I had the strap around my neck, so I let go of the camera, and POOF it hit the ground. The damage is the ring that holes the UV filter. What do you guys think it'll cost?

It happened on my less than 1wk old(to me) Tamron 17-50mm :wtc:

    Yeah... I was drunk.

Yeah. Strap is never coming off again, unless it;s to put the camera away.

The lens is perfectly operational (to my knowledge). The outer glass doesn't seem to be affected, cause I tried to jiggle it and it wouldn't move. It looks like something I can super glue, but then again I don't want the risk of damaging it even more. I have found a repair center in Sacramento, CA which is only a one day shipment away, so I'm going to probably have it shipped out Monday.

Diagnostics $20, which is to take it apart and to see what's exactly broken. $15 return postage + parts. Hopefully it's not too expensive :sadwavey:.

I have 0 experience sending lenses in, but from what I've heard if the front element is broken it's muuch more expensive than body damage. But if there's not internal workings fucked up I don't see the repair being more $120 total, but that is a completely uneducated guess.
