The usual core stability crap done in gyms, standing on gym balls, doing planks all sorts of wierd balance shit, i see people doing this all the time (mainly with personal trainers) but it all seems pretty safe and standard.

Now gymnasts and cats with that kind of hobbie seem to be ripped to shit and strong as fuck (core stability wise), Just wondering if anyone knows of any hardcore exercises to get ridiculously strong core stability, none of the usual crap you see in gyms

Standing ab, unilateral leg ie. bulgarian split squats, overhead, and sandbag work.

heavy compounds and olympic lifts. The only people who need to work their "core" are people who do nothing but isolation.

i saw this guy doing the funniest shit yesterday.

He was kneeling on a a half swiss ball, and doing this mr. myagi wax-on, wax-off shit while holding a 5lb DB between both hands.

    It was pretty awesome.

I was waiting for him to open up a portal to the netherworld.

Most people don't go heavy enough on compounds to neglect direct core work.

try to work your way up to 20-30 reps per set on the ab wheel kneeling, then try them standing :o

I used a variation on the ab wheel, just a free bar with weights on it and roll out and in, dont have an ab wheel in my gym, but i guess its pretty much the same, yeah it kicks the living shit out of my abs, they feel like they are literally ripping off my body

    On knees or straight legged.

Did single arm single leg plank with 45lbs on my back. Felt like I tweaked my lower back doing that but might have just been DOMS since first time doing it in awhile.

going to have to start with the ab wheel soon. I've maxed out the cable machine on cable crunches and want more of a challenge.

    Maybe even try Dim's ghetto-version, .

:werd: I've been doing 5x15 on the ab wheel, kneeling, on my DL days...I usually do 4x15 standing rope crunches on squat days
