I had an error on my Mac Mini HD. Instead of wiping it I bought a new HD and did a fresh install of Leopard. I've repaird the bad disk and want a whole profile that is on it.

If I create a profile with the same exact name as the one on the fixed drive, can I just copy the whole user directory and overwrite the new one I create? Will I be able to login to the profile and see all the setting, data, ical, address book, etc that's there?

Why not just use the Migration Assistant. Sure you could copy the directory, but the permissions may not be the same, and that is where shit starts fucking up.
