Copying a hard drive onto another machine.

    So I have a two computers and on one of them I want to copy the contents of the hard drive to another hard drive. Which is the best was to go about this? Ghost?

    take the drive and put it into the new machine if possible. if not, over the network or use a usb drive as a staging area.

    download the free trial of acronis true image, then use the clone disc tool.

    Go on the manufacturers website. They usually have a drive copy tool.

    I usually put it in a the new PC, or (if a laptop) use a USB external enclosure.

    Most of the time i don't want all the data so copying the entire contents is a waste of time.

    acronis clone will do that

    I have eSATA on the front of my new case - this made transfers supper quick!
