I have a 93 Lexus ES300 and i was replacing the power steering pump when i discovered that one of the high pressure lines ran to to radiator fan. After some looking around i realized that the radiator fan seems to be powered by the power steering fluid.

Am i looking at it wrong, or is the fan actually powered by power steering fluid/pump?

it would be unlikely that the fan is powered by the power steering pump -- although I guess not impossible. There would have to be a return line... is there? And is it to the clutch? Can you post pics? Is it possible there is a (rare) power steering fluid cooler?

    I'll get some pics later

there is a return line, it looks like it goes from the bottom of the fan down to the steering rack :dunno:

    i'm really not sure....

however i am sure that there are no wires going to the back of the fan (hinting at an electric motor)
