Ok, so I've been "making backups" of some dvds... ripping them straight from the original disk and burning them onto another one w/o any problems. But i have ALOT of .AVI format files on my computer.... some are like the family guy movie and cowboy bebop / full metal alchemist.... I was wondering if anyone could link me to a newb friendly converting program? The ones I used are really shitty and like tagg the video you use unless you pay for the full thing. I currently have Nero, DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrpyt... those are the only ones... I want to take a AVI file and make it play on a DVD player. Let me know if you can show me some easy to use programs / possibly walk me though it.

I used Sonic My DVD to make a dvd with a couple of .avi files over the weekend. It will encode them into mpeg-2 for dvd and let you make menus, etc.
Or I think MainConcept Encoder can convert avi files to mpeg. Then just burn it with Tmpgenc . You can alos make chapters/menus.

TMPGEnc DVD Author and Sonic MyDVD Studio Deluxe Suite are two that I have used in the past for menus and chapters, etc.

Any DVD authoring program will help you make menus and chapters and such.

i use the DVD builder in Roxio EZ Media Creator 7.5. Simple drag and drop videos and then you can make your menus and add music, etc...
