I work from my computer all day long, i translate books from english and german. Right now im going with a labtop running with linux red hat (allergic to microsoft). Im thinking of getting a new labtop, and it cant be microsoft.

Gonna leave linux red hat however. Iv heard that Apple OS X is based on linux, especially the ubuntu technic. Is that true?

I dont play computer games i play video games=) So that is totally unimportant for me. What i want is a good stable OS, Linux Red hat offers that. I like that Mac dosent got any viruses, but is it stable?

very stable...only crash i've had was on my 7 year old Pismo laptop when I accidently tried to open 235 photos from a cd in photoshop.

my G5 didn't respond once during a bootup but I found out it was because it didn't like having my memory card reader and printer on the same USB bus.
