I have a problem with controlling my hunger and eating in moderation.
I will eat a fairly balanced lunch and dinner, but my snacking in between is huge and basically the size of a dinner. If I am not eating, I am hungry as fuck. It's hard to not just run to the store and buy something.

Any vitamins or anything I can take or do throughout the day to help control my hunger without reaching for a fucking snickers or grapes in mass quantities?

    high fiber fruits and vegetables.

Chinese pears are HUGE, and pretty much zero calories.

Brocolli, Bell Peppers, Zucchini, Carrots all make good snacks

Try eating smaller meals throughout the day instead of the traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner.

not just any pear if you're watching sugar calories. If thats part of your macros, go for it.

but this pear specifically, the asian pear (sorry, not Chinese pear)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrus_pyrifolia

they're pretty huge, have a fibrous skin (5g per pear) and are 50 calories

Fiber, fat, ephedrine + caffeine, lots of water.

That's really all you can do.

that and eat a shit ton of green veggies. I mean, if you are going to go for an unplanned unaccounted for snack b/w meals, make it a bunch of plain broccoli, green beans, asparagus, cabbage, spinach, etc..

black coffee makes me hungrier :dunno:

To the TS, try to incorporate protein into every meal and snack. Snickers and grapes don't have a whole lot of protein. An affordable low-calories source of protein is eggs. You can just carry some boiled ones around and snack on them when you're hungry. Other ideas for protein are: nuts, light cheese, lean meat, and fish.

Try to eat every 2-3 hours also to avoid going hungry for too long.

I also have a horrible problem with hunger, but I've found that focusing on getting enough protein in my diet and combining that with whole grain foods really helped with hunger.

drink a lot of water, like a lot

I have a 1 liter nalgene bottle that I take to work, I drink 3 of them in roughly 8-9 hours sitting at my desk. Helps control my hunger, I used to just go pig out on snacks in the kitchen :wtc:

Don't leave fucking snickers and grapes in mass quantities around your house/work area.

And like everyone else said, more fiber.

apples have chemicals that supress hunger

a good filler is dill pickles... a whole jar of about a gallon is like 200 cal

    +1 for black coffee

alos cardio releases chemicals that supress hunger, lifting release chemicals that instigate hunger

seriously? anyone know if there's truth to this?

I don't get hungry after I've done my weights, but I usually do them after dinner, so I would have eaten recently before.

I take everything he says with a huge grain of salt. Pretty much any exercise stimulates hunger.

if not initially, give it 10-20 minutes. On the way back home from the gym the last thing on my mind is food. 15 minutes later when I walk in the door, I'm starving.
