OK, posted this in OT, but went unnoticed. I'm trying to restore my original Control Panel icon, but I can't find any way to do it. I've gone through Display Settings, and the actual Control Panel program properties, nothing. I want my Control Panel icon back... :wtc:

Do you still have your Windows disk? I'm thinking you could probably just do a reinstall or something like that.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do a reinstall of windows for this... unless you mean a reinstall of just the control panel, in which case I just demonstrated my complete lack of software skills.

Right click taskbar -> Properties -> Start Menu tab -> make sure Start Menu is selected and click Customize -> Advanced Tab -> under Control Panel select either of the first two options

    :dunno:

    What version of Windows?
Have you tried using TweakUI and used it's Repair->rebuild icons feature?

Windows XP Pro, SP1, and I've used TweakUI. It didn't do anything. Not sure where to find a fix, other than reformatting :wtc:

"The Googles! They do nothing!" (Sorry, had to.)
