I went down to Meps and signed my contract for Navy STG-AEF and Navy College Fund. I'm now in DEP and trying to get my contract changed.

I have 58 college credits and want to get my contract changed to have

    *STG-AEF
*Enlistment bonus w/ the 4k kicker for my college credits
*Entering in w/ paygrade of E-3

What I thought was going to happen was that my recruiter would fax off my info and then I'd get a new contract back from MEPS which I could sign at the recruiter's office. And then I'm set with my new contract which would void out the previous contract I signed at MEPS. HOWEVER, my recruiters are telling me that it doesn't work like that. They said I'm just going to have the new contract right before I ship out. And that I sign it then.

This doesn't sound right to me. I feel like I should have my updated/fixed/corrected contract that I sign right now and then I will again sign off on my final contract right before I ship out. Can anyone help me out please.

Yes, absolutely. They are there to do what you want, not the other way around. That's boot camp.
