Okay OT I desparately need your help :hs:

Getting a used car and the final decision is down to:

1998.5 Ford Contour SVT (70k miles) -- loaded, w/ extra set of whls and tires
    2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (87k miles)-- loaded

Both performance wise and option wise are equal to me right now, don't argue about that. The Contour is $7500 obo, and the Nissan is $8100.

The one thing I'm wondering, is which one will last me longer and I'll have more fun with?

I know the Contour SVT is probably a tad faster, but it's high maintanence. I'm wondering if I'll run into the same problems with the Sentra Spec V?

countor is overpriced i see those go for like 5-6K. SE-R will probably blow up soon since those cars are very unrelialbe.

My brother has one and I love it but I'm afraid i'll run into lots of problems in a few thousand miles. Though, it'll probably be the same with the Spec V :o

Lots of extras on the Contour (not engine extras), and im hoping i'll be able to get it down to about $7000 at least since it still has the stock struts and waterpump :dunno:

I can't see the Sentra going down in price, it's very undepriced as it is

I heard people say the engine will die quick on the SE-R since it has so many miles, but then again I've heard people say it sounds like a great buy :dunno:

I'm going to need the car to last up to 120k miles, which will be hard with both cars, but at least the Contour has 17k miles less :hsd:

    I still don't know :hs:

I like the looks of the Sentra (not saying a whole lot though) better, but would rather have the Contour's drivetrain.

Reliability wise guys. Take into account the mileage they have, and don't grade the Contour on regular contours, SVT's last longer than the shitbucket GL's :hs:

SpecVs handle RIDICULOUSLY well for a cheap front-driver. Stock LSD ftw!

That little 2.5 has some good low end punch as well. My friend's got one and I really enjoy it.

the se-r is a great buy to people because its a 2002 model car for not that much money, but the mileage is huge and those aren't civics

Why would they? Maybe a little more care goes into the engine, but the whole car's built by the same idiots.

I have a contour SE, which basicly has the same drivetrain as the SVT. You are right; contours are not very reliable and are high maintance. I had to swap tranny's after I blew the diff. The shop manual quotes 30 hours to change trannys. It is FAST, much faster than anyone would think they are before they ride in one.

The Duratec has far less problems, but still, compared to a Honda, they have loads of problems, so that's not saying much :hs:
