I'm thinking about buying a Yugoslavian Mauser 24/47. Now, I don't have a reason other than having a Mauser patterned rifle in my collection. Does anyone know where to get 8mm Mauser? It doesn't matter if it is corrosive or not. I like the quality of the Mauser design, and just want one before they are hard to find or get expensive.

J&G and Ammoman both have it... I'd assume a lot of the other usualy milsurp suspsects would to.

AIM may have some 8mm too. What are the Yugo mausers going for these days? Personally I'd spent a little more for a kraut one. I think you can still get RC K98's for a little over $200.

Too late, I purchased a 24/47 from a local shop. Cleaned all the cosmoline out, and the bore is MINT. All the important numbers match, and the finish even under the stock is flawless. The old Greek (I think) ammo I got for it sucks, but the gun functioned great.

What ammunition do you fire in it? I will ultimately be reloading some rounds for it, but in the meantime I would like to find some ammo that's better than the stuff I fired earlier.

I think most of my current 8mm stock is Yugo, and maybe a can of something else Hungarian or Romanian I think. I buy whatever I kind find thats cheap.
