I can't go 2 hours without pissing once. Perhaps the issue is with too much protein?

I try to get around 200g of protein a day at 220 lb. No more than 50 of it comes from powder. I notice when I don't eat much (for example when I'm sick), I never have to go.

What do you guys think? Too much protein? Not enough calories or carbs? (I try to eat carbs with every meal, but often I just end up having a big piece of steak or chicken and end it at that). Or am I just drinking too much water?

What caffeine based products are you taking?

Also the color of it will tell you a lot. But yes you might drink 'too much'.

Every two hours? You're lucky. I'm usually going a couple times an hour.

    Thanks for the responses.

No diabetes. Had blood checked a few months back.

I don't drink anything with caffeine.

Pretty sure I don't have any problems with anxiety either.

Reason I though protein may be the culprit is b/c I assumed excess protein is filtered out by the liver through urine.

I also noticed when I eat cottage cheese before I go to bed, I end up having to go in the middle of the night. Just happened last night actually.

If you eat too much protein, the excess gets turned into carbs and the process produces an acid that you piss out but I'm not sure if this should alter the volume of piss, more just the content. There are strips you can buy that you piss on to test for this.

Problem doesn't affect your volume or frequency of peeing.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluconeogenesis

According to this this only happens when cutting so I could be wrong,....could be converted to fat if you're bulking too. Amino acids = Protein. Glucose = a form of Carb

first, I know what gluconeogenesis is, and I know what you really meant (proteins convert to usable sugars)

second, don't ever use wikipedia to prove your point again

third, if you eat "too much" protein, it converts to fat. Or technically, it converts to glucose, which then converts to fat. Too much of anything will convert to fat in the long run.

You're just consuming a lot of liquids.

I pee at least every hour, sometimes more.
