consistent schedule

    How important is it to maintain a consistent work out schedule?

    I try to switch it up once a month to promote muscle confusion but through out that month some days things come up and I don't have a chance to make it to the gym but usually I make up for it the next day.

    Current schedule is

    monday - chest/tri
    wednesday - back/bi
    thursday - legs/abs
    saturday - shoulders

    I've been making decent gains going two days a week which is all I have time for

    day 1: chest/shoulders/squats

    plenty of rest

    day 2: back/squats


    and eating quality food all week
