Long story short, I'll probably be moving to Australia (for good), and with that, I'll need to buy a car (and get rid of my cars in the US). Anyways, I went car searching today, and was pretty impressed with the Renaultsport Clio 197. It's a really fun car, and somewhat economical. It picked up pretty well, and took corners well. Stiff suspension on it, but it doesn't feel any rougher than my IS300. I looked at (but did not drive) an Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 JTDM - looks nice on the outside, but not impressed with the interior.

So anyways, Clio 197... yay or nay?

Well, I've been living half the year in the US, half the year here for a few years now, and I dunno... Australia feels more like home than the US does I guess :dunno:

Not fancy a Focus ST? (or Focus XR5 I think?)

looks good :eek3: I'll have to check one out tomorrow... they look quite a bit larger compared to the Renault, but its hard to tell from the pics.

I got to take the Renault out on a 3 hour test drive :bigthumb:
Cornering and steering were awesome. Not much low-end torque, but get it up in the revs, and it really moves. Suspension is firm, but still tolerable driving around town. Next, I want to look at the Peugeot 207 GTI and the Focus XR5.

Take a look at the Aussie version of the Honda Civic Si. It's quite a bit sportier than the one in the States.

Yeah XR5 is larger than the clio - but they are torquey as hell - full of goodies, and the noise they make is incredible!
