I am on a campus and just found out our school has a limiter on non-work related stuff :squint: anyways, this pretty much means sub 2kb/s for anything like Kazaa, games, or anything not FTP or HTTP (hypothetically). But you can still connect to Counter-Strike, and Tribes2 servers and get awesome pings. But try playing ANY MMORPG online and you will be guaranteed to ping awfully (even UO). Is there any reason why this is going on while there is a "limiter" in place?

All depends on what domains they have set in the limiter. Most of the MMORPG's have set servers which they can block/limit. Counter Strike, Tribes, etc... people just setup servers and run them so you can't block every one so they probably don't even try.

The school is too stupid to limit specific servers and stuff. And there are like 1000's of UO servers (pretty sure only like 5 people on my campus have even played UO) but none of them work. Any other ideas?

Just seems weird if he says EVERYTHING non ftp and http is limited but all the first person shooters work well.
