My computer has'nt got a DVD burner but I have some downloaded files which are around 3gig so would like to get them burn't.

How do i go about connecting my computer to hers so i can transfer the file across onto her harddrive from which I can then burn the disc?

    Thanks!

You can use a network crossover cable, USB crossover cable, or a hard drive enclosure...

You can get USB to USB?

Will the other computer appear automaticly?

    This could make things easier.

    Thanks

I've never used it, so I'm not sure. I've seen the cables in stores before.

home network. go pick up a cheap router, use it for what you need, and return it.

    wtf

no, if both computers have a NIC than get a small 3 foot crossover cable

more than likely both have one and it's cheaper/easier than buying a router

either go buy a crossover cable, or just search for one and you can just make it out of an existing ethernet cord.
unless you don't have any ethernet cards, then you can use less conventional things like usb to usb or serial to serial, but i wouldn't recommend it, because for the price and hassle, you could have a sweet ethernet setup, up to 1000mbps
