    Hi,

I currently have two laptops, and want one to function as a desktop. For this, I WANT to buy a Dell LCD montitor (and docking station) for my Inspiron 4100.

The native resolution of my 4100's LCD is 1024x768. Does this mean that only the 15" LCD Monitor is an option for me since they share the same native resolution? I do not want any distortion. I would preferably like the 19" LCD, but if I am limited to the resolution of my ATI Mobility Radeon card, I guess I will have to settle for 15".

    Thanks,
    P.

no, 1024x768 is the limitation of the built-in LCD screen. However, you should have no problems driving an external 19" LCD at 1280x1024 (common native resolution for 19" LCDs).

Yep, assuming that the card can do 1280x1024 (which it should be able to, almost all do these days), you should be fine.
