My parents just purchased a DVD player and we're having trouble connecting it to the television. We have RCA inputs on the back of the television, we hooked them up to the back, and in a word - nothing. We even disonnected the cable, flipped the TV to every channel. Nothing. Am I missing something here? I read all the instructions, they don't really help.

There's no option for changing input on either of the TVs that I tried it on. Only stuff that I can use to change the time, V-Chip preferences, closed captioning, etc.

besides component video hookup (RCA) can you have the SVHS cable hooked up? It would be easier to hookup the SVHS cable vice the RCA ones- w/ the SVHS you would only need that cable and the audio ones hooked up-

What brand name is the TV? Try channel 00.
