Ok, I have the DNS configured for my site as well as the websites created on my server.

Now, I can access the websites from the server by typing in the name in the browser.

Now, I can't access the sites from my laptop, the ping keeps timing out.

Is there something else i have to configure on my server or the indivdual websites to get this to work correctly? Is it denying outside requests from being processed (which is my guess)?

:hs: there are no good tutorals on the net for this and i know jack about this :o

there is a plethora (sp) of things that could be wrong with your setup. Why don't you first try to describe your network configuration, and how you think that thing is connected to the net

yea, not nearly enough info to diagnose this problem.

And if you can't get this far w/o help, I definitely wouldn't trust you to actually admin this box/site.

    Setting up DNS...

    1. Set it up on W2K3
    2. Set W2K3 box to a static IP with a DNS of 127.0.0.1
    3. Add A or cname records manually to the DNS entries in your own server
    4. Set up DHCP server with your router as your gateway, your W2K3 box as a DNS server (and netBIOS name is your domain).

To access it publicly, there's more steps.
