Through the help of the VAG and just maturing in general, I've grown to be a confident young man.

I've been told by several people that I've become arrogant, which I believe is completely off-base. To me, arrogance is believing you are better than everyone and feeling that you are above them.

I don't feel this is true about me at all. Instead, I just have a lot of pride and confidence in how I carry myself.

Any thoughts on this? Anyone have anything similar happen to them?

Maybe you should turn down the pride a little...swallow a piece of humble pie.

take the next step. confidence means being confident enough that you can give a little to make sure others are not slighted. you are possibly lacking in empathy.

"i see your point, but look at it this way..." instead of "you're wrong" etc. You would be amazed how little praise, empathy, and understanding it takes to change that negative perception.

"people will forget what you say, but they will never forget how you make them feel"

Whenever someone tells me I'm cocky and arrogant, I always respond with something cocky/arrogant. Works wonders :)

Too much pride make it harder to take critisism.

Taking anything into more or less consideration makes a person less arrogant. Wether you agree or not.
