Does a condom only fail when it breaks in terms of pregnany? I was reading some sites and they gaves stats like there 90 percent effectve, but that doesnt seem pretty effective. THat means 1 in 10 break? I said that cant be right, so what else comes in this factor?

    This is a good question.

Is that the only way a condom can fail?

There is only like a 3% breakage rate... ive been looking this shit up, you may have noticed my thread on this exact subject not long ago.

the 89% figure is for people who use them casually, not paying attention to detail and not neccesarily using them correctly.

97% is the figure reffering to people who use them correctly, and im guessing that the 3% is due to them slipping off, leaking, or breaking, because it is impossible for the sperm to go through solid latex...at least I'm pretty fucking sure its not possible because latex isnt permeable.

    Hope that helps.

also, those %'s are based off a year of sex. so like in a year of excellent condom use sex.... 3% of couples (3 of 100) will get pregnant.

    Kronik is correct.

    So thats what...3% of 365*3 = % daily? lol
or 3/365 = 0.8% daily. Thats pretty fucking good.
