I was about to send in my application for my permit, but to my dismay I cant find my certificate for completion of the NRA gun safety course :wtc:
Does the NRA keep those on file and can I get another one? Or am I stuck with just having to do it again? :hs:
This VA by the way. In the mean time while waiting for answers from here, I'll be searching on packing.org in case they have an answer.

I don't think the NRA HQ would keep that info. You might be able to contact the instructor you took the class from and see if he can get you a replacement.

You will probably have to repeat the class.

Damn, that means I'll actually have to pay for it this time :hs:
My friends dad did it for his company, there was an open spot so I was able to do it for free.

Contact the instructor.... good idea :o I didnt think of that.

I kept my records of classes for 2 years so if the instructor is worth a damn, he should have it on record you attended and passed his course and will issue you another.

    If he's worth a damn?

Is it really the instructor's RESPONSIBILITY to prepare for the student's lack thereof? Accidents happen, shit burns up in house fires or gets lost, but that doesn't mean an instructor is any less qualified or effective just because he doesn't maintain YOUR records for you.

They are the instructors records as well and yes, it is the Instructor's responsibility to keep records of students for a number of liability reasons.

Is it really a big deal for him to give you another form? My guy just types a letter including his NRA instructor number stating that I completed a handgun safety course.
