I should've known better than to try it again - I hate selling old computers to people. I got a new system, and a friend was looking for a server. I put my Gateway Athlon 750 back together and sold it to him. It worked when it left my house (after it inexplicably heated the ram and I had to put different chips in). He said he got it home and it wouldn't work. He dorked around with it and brough it back to me. Tonight I turn it on to see what it's doing and it beeps about 8 times and nothing. No vid signal, you can hear the HD read, and that's it. I'm clueless.
    Ideas?

Check Gateway's site for the beep codes. If that doesn't work, find out what kind of BIOS it has in it, i.e. AmiBios, Award Bios, PhoenixBIOS, etc.

Look up the beep codes for that BIOS, and you will be fine. If you can't figure it out, look up the codes for all three, and be on your way.
