In the past few months, i've been having some computer problems. When ever I downloaded a torrent or updated my World Of Warcraft through the blizzard updater, my computer would randomly freeze and then restart.

I thought it was my power supply so I got a new one. No dice
I thought it was my ram. I bought newer ram, twice the amount (1gig instead of 512). No dice...still happens
So now, I think it's my processor. I ordered a new processor from newegg (AMD 2600+ Barton) and it should be shipping either today or tomorrow. If that doesn't fix it, what are my other options?

    Thanks

Cliffs: Comp freezes, put new parts into it, still happens, hope processor fixes it

well, stop your illegal activities first. when you get software from unauthorized sources, who knows what else you're getting with it!

Secondly, run prime95, seagate seatools, and memtest86+.

If all of those check out, I'd lean towards a software problem.... format and reinstall.

.....haha, it was from empornium.....a porn site that specializes in porn through torrents.

I have already formatted and reinstalled a couple of days ago.

    I'll run prime95, seagate seatools, and memtest86+

    And no, i'm not overclocked

edit: It also restarted when I updated World Of Warcraft through blizzards updater...that's a secure source

get latest drivers for network card. if it's offboard, try moving it to one of the middle PCI slots and see if the problem goes away.

scan for malware using spybot et al. some of that junk comes with LSP plugins that can mess with your IP connectivity.
