this has happened three times in the past couple of days and I have no idea how... :wtc:

basically my computer starts to "jerk." for example my mp3s and videos would (while playing) stop, then continue, then stop again then continue again.

even my mouse. if I move it around I could notice that it would stop then move again. basically everything in the computer does it.

that's about all the information I could give as I'm basically a computer newb. thanks for any help anyone could give.

A good place to start with that is to run diagnostics on the hard drive. It sounds odd, but if the hard drive encounters an error and has to reset itself, or is going bad, the computer can stutter like you describe. Go to the manufacturers website and download the diagnostic software for your particular drive.

I would say start backing up your shit.

Then if I were you, I'd do a fresh install. I did that and found out my HD was dying and fortunately was still under warranty.
