Everytime I start my computer it just makes a clicking sound. The light for the harddrive is constantly on as well. If it does start up (which is a miracle) then it says "Physical Memory dump." Not sure what to do. Any ideas? Computer is Toshiba Satellite. Thanks

Sounds like a bad hard disk maybe.

Better chance its a software problem, OS is trashed. (That is assuming the memory dump is created by the OS and not some odd function of the BIOS/CMOS..)

Try booting from a boot disk, does the drive light stay on? Does the machine boot to the disk? Can you access the hard drive???

Some programs eat up your pc, try checking if the processer is 100% continues. If so it's probably spyware and virus infected to the core.

Did you try to access the harddrive when you booted from the system disk?

Is it not able to access the drive or the garbage thats on it unable to boot into Windows? If it cannot access the harddrive with or without a boot disk then there is a good chance the harddrive is dead. But if you can access the drive from a boot disk and or the system is trying to load windows and failing its probably software related
