So normally when I boot my PC, the fans spin up real fast, then slow down, then I get the single POST beep. Tonight, I tried turning it on, and the fans spun up to maximum, but then would not spin down and it did not post. I changed nothing. What could the problem be?

I pulled my X-Fi Xtreme Music out and it then booted. This leads me to believe it is the power supply. Here are the specs:

    Corsair 520HX (520W)
    C2D E6750 conroe
    3 HDD
    gigabyte p35-DS3R
    4 1GB sticks RAM
    Gigabyte P5E
    8800GT
    Wireless Card
    1 DVD burner
    4 fans + HSF fan

does this sound like it's not getting enough juice? It worked fine since I first built it...

EDIT: I replaced the X-Fi and it boots fine again... electrical gremlins?

I think I got the same problem too...the fact that nothing comes up on screen and my mouse and keyboard are not powered up. :wtc:

I'm really REALLY hoping it is the power supply though :x:

It happened again. Removing the X-Fi this time did not help... It just started up after several attempts and many curses.

    I'd check ram
boot with only 1 stick installed,... if it posts, run memtest as well
do this till you find the bad stick

    try a diff PSU
