My Pentium 233Mhz MMX box with 64mb of RAM can play just about anything. I think you'll be fine...

I don't use it to for the sole purpose of movie watching, but I gave it a whirl. I tried a 150mb DIVX AVI off a 24x read CD burner which was mounted in a seperate PC on a 100mbs network (2nd PC is a 450Mhz box pulling in an MP3 stream off another one of my boxes while doing all of this). The AVI played back without problems at 100% and 200%. There was lag when playing it back at full screen (1024x768). My 450Mhz box does not have this lag.
